Patna, October 29 (IANS) Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav and accused them of misleading the people of Bihar with false promises.
Singh campaigned in support of BJP candidate Ramchandra Prasad while addressing a huge election meeting in the premises of Ramsharan Lakshminarayan Mahavidyalaya in Nimethi under Baheri block of Hayaghat assembly constituency of Darbhanga district.
Taking a dig at Tejashwi Yadav’s promise of providing jobs to every household, Singh said, “Where will the money come from? Don’t do politics by lying. It will cost Rs 12 lakh crore, whereas the total budget of Bihar is only Rs 3.17 lakh crore. You have your whole life to do politics, but don’t throw dust in the eyes of the public.”
He further said, “It is impossible to give jobs to 2 crore 80 lakh people. They want to gain power by cheating the people. Our government will not be able to provide jobs to every household, but it will definitely connect every household with work and employment opportunities.”
The Defense Minister also attacked the previous tenure of Lalu Prasad Yadav and alleged that Bihar was suffering from “Jungle Raj” during his rule.
Rajnath Singh also talked about national security while reiterating India’s strong stance against terrorism.
He said, “After the Pulwama and Pahalgam terrorist attacks, our country gave a befitting reply to the enemies. Our forces have killed countless terrorists, but not a single innocent Pakistani has lost their lives. Our government practices the politics of justice and humanity – not casteism.”
Highlighting the achievements of the NDA government, Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar together have taken Bihar forward on the path of development.
He said, “There has been unprecedented progress in the fields of roads, electricity, education and employment in Bihar.”
A large number of local leaders, party workers and supporters participated in the rally.
