Patna, October 25 (IANS) Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son and Janashakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday launched a scathing attack on his younger brother Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, saying he cannot be a public hero and his position completely belongs to his father Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Speaking to media persons in Patna, Tej Pratap said, “Tejashwi can never be a mass hero. Whatever he is today is because of my father Lalu Prasad Yadav. When Tejashwi achieves something on his own merit, I will be the first one to praise him and call him a mass hero. Presently the mass heroes are leaders like Karpoori Thakur, Ram Manohar Lohia and Lalu.” Prasad Yadav.”
His comments come after RJD put up a poster projecting Tejashwi Yadav as a “hero” outside its party office in Patna.
Tej Pratap, contesting from Mahua assembly constituency in Vaishali district, claimed that his campaign is going smoothly.
“I am getting a very good response in Mahua. There is no challenge for me. I helped set up a medical college there and now am planning to build an engineering college and a cricket stadium. I will also organize an India-Pakistan cricket match in Mahua,” he said.
Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment about LED lights, Tej Pratap quipped, “My car has LED lights. Our party symbol is a blackboard. We are no longer living in the lantern era; our cars have LED lights.”
Asked if he would consider rejoining the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) if given a chance, Tej Pratap said he was not greedy for power and would reject such an offer.
Tej Pratap had earlier represented Mahua in 2015 and served as health minister in the Nitish Kumar-led Grand Alliance government.
In 2020, he contested from Hasanpur seat of Samastipur district on RJD ticket and won.
