Queen Camilla couldn’t contain her emotions as she made a historic appearance at Royal Maundy Day on Thursday, receiving messages of kindness for cancer-stricken King Charles III and Kate Middleton.
The Queen, 76, received a flood of well-wishes for the Queen and the Princess of Wales following a Maundy Day service at Worcester Cathedral, where she presented Maundy Day donations to key figures in the community in recognition of their service.
Some sent cards and flowers to her daughter-in-law, while others told royals they were thinking of her as she briefly moved around to meet well-wishers.
Dr John Inge, Bishop of Worcester, who presided over the service as Lord of High Almona, remembered the King during the “Blessing” and told the Queen “we hope you will convey to him our love and respect”.
