Tata Motors has launched the much-awaited Punch EV, which is attractively priced between Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Bookings for this electric SUV began earlier this month, requiring only a token amount of Rs 21,000.

Dual battery option and different options

The Punch EV comes with two battery options – a 25kWh battery that offers approximately 315km MIDC range and a 35kWh battery that offers approximately 421km MIDC range. The SUV comes in five different variants, allowing buyers to customize their experience.

Attractive design and platform

Visually inspired by its sibling, the Nexon EV, the Tata Punch EV features distinctive features like a front trunk (frunk), LED light bar, split headlamp setup and a fresh alloy wheel design. It is the first Tata electric vehicle to be built on the innovative Gen 2 architecture named Acti.EV, which is set to underpin upcoming EVs like Curve EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV.

Powertrain and charging options

With the Long Range variant generating 122 bhp and 190 Nm and the regular variant equipped with an 82 bhp, 114 Nm motor, the Punch EV accelerates from 0-100 kmph in less than 9.5 seconds with the Long Range model. In terms of charging, the Punch EV comes with a 3.3kW wall box charger and a 7.2kW fast charger, as well as support for DC fast charging, reaching 10-80 percent in just 56 minutes.

The Punch EV offers a host of features like a new dashboard design, twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrument display as well as steering wheel paddles for region control.
