Tata Nexon Facelift gets Global NCAP 5-star rating with new deal

Tata Motors The recently launched facelift Nexon has achieved a major milestone by receiving a five-star safety rating in the Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP) crash test.

This compact SUV under 4 meters performs well in terms of safety, with an adult protection score of 32.22 points (out of 34 points) and a child protection score of 44.52 points (out of 49 points).

Notably, back in 2018, the first-generation Nexon became the first car in India to receive a five-star rating in the GNCAP crash test.

Global NCAP rated the Nexon’s footwell and body integrity as stable and equipped with side-impact protective doors. Head and neck protection for the driver and passengers is adequate. The chests of the passenger and driver appear to be adequately protected. Passenger and driver knees appear to be well protected. The driver’s and passenger’s shins are well protected.

In addition, the head, abdomen and pelvis show good side protection, while the chest shows adequate side protection. In addition, Global NCAP also performs side bar impact, providing adequate protection for the abdomen, edge protection for the chest, and good protection for the head and pelvis.

As standard, the Nexon meets GTR9 and UN127 pedestrian protection requirements. The model is also equipped with a seat belt reminder device at each seating position and complies with Global NCAP’s ESC regulations.

Safety features on the Nexon include six airbags, electronic stability programme, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking sensors, tilt and folding steering, central locking and hill hold control. Currently, all Tata SUVs receive a five-star rating in crash tests.
