On December 25 last year, Tanuj Virwani held an intimate wedding with his Singaporean artist girlfriend Tanya Jacob. Needless to say, this Valentine’s Day will be quite special for the couple as it is their first Valentine’s Day after getting married. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Tanuj revealed, “Unfortunately, I am single on most Valentine’s Days. The only time I had a girlfriend was when I was in college.”

So, who is more romantic between the two? “I love making and receiving big moves. I’m a romantic comedy type of person. But definitely between Tanya and I, I’m the more romantic one. I love planning a surprise trip, just to Give her a surprise,” said Tanuj, who is currently shooting for Splitsvilla in Rajasthan.

They moved in together before getting married, and the “Inside Edge” actor attributes their strong marriage to the same reason. “My life didn’t change that much because we lived together in the months leading up to the wedding, which in hindsight was a huge thing. It helped us understand each other, respect and value each other’s space,” he pointed out.

Praising Tanya’s “understanding” nature, he said: “I was an only child and I never had to share my things or my space with anyone. That’s why I was a grumpy person and she blended in so easily , and it’s easier to adapt. It was hard early on, but now everything is going smoothly. We have a good understanding.”

Tanuj continued, “When I come home from a long and hard day at work, I need some time to relax as I deal with so many people and so much energy. Earlier, this used to annoy me as I As soon as she came back, she’d ask, ‘How was your day? Tell me everything. But when I told her to give me some time to find my bearings and deescalate things, she got it.”

Ask him about the way they handle fights, and he candidly shares, “I’m also the one who starts fights and ends them. After I finished my rant, she asked me to have a grown-up conversation. But let’s be honest, we were fighting It wasn’t that much. It was more like arguments. I had one case where I was angry and frustrated because of exhaustion, body pain, and no food. When I was hungry, I would get really cranky.”

For Tanuj, one of the secrets to making her marriage work is to find time despite her busy schedule through “travel and weekend getaways.” If prodded further, he’ll say, “It’s important to never take your relationship or partner for granted. You must continue to nurture it in any way possible.”

He added: “Right now, I am the busier of the two. She has moved to Mumbai for a few months and is thinking about what to do next and getting her bearings. I have a little calendar that I keep forwarding to her. , so that she could keep track of my whereabouts and plan her life accordingly. One cool thing about her is that even though she is not a part of the industry or an actor, she loves and enjoys being on set and I thought it was fun and engaging. I told her that if she was free, she was more than welcome to come hang out and meet my colleagues and friends. In a way, it also gave us a chance to kill time.”
