Starmer vows Ukraine’s allies will take Russian oil and gas off the market

Allies have pledged to take action to remove Russian oil and gas from the global market, Sir keir starmer said, later Leaders gathered with Volodymyr Zelensky in London.

“Last week, the UK became the first country to approve all RussiaBig oil companies. On Wednesday, the US took decisive action to join us with further EU sanctions, and we are cutting off funding for Russia’s war machine.

“I am urging others to take the same steps to reduce their dependence and encourage third countries to stop purchasing these contaminated resources.”

While Mr. Zelensky continued to press for more military support from Europe, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday that its forces had taken control of three more villages in eastern Ukraine.

According to the ministry, Russian troops have captured Bolohivka in the Kharkiv region, Promin in the Donetsk region, as well as Zalogoda in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Earlier, the ministry also said that its forces had captured the settlement of Dronivka in the Donetsk region.

The reported gains come after Donald Trump stepped up pressure on Vladimir Putin with new sanctions on Russian oil.

The United States this week imposed sanctions on Russia’s biggest oil companies, Lukoil and Rosneft, while European Union countries approved their 19th package of sanctions on Moscow that included a ban on Russian liquefied natural gas imports.
