Star Wars Desperados released a new trailer on Tuesday, revealing key story details, additional characters and a release date. Ubisoft’s action-adventure game will be released on August 30, 2024. The open-world Star Wars game will put players in the role of Kay Vess, a villain who pulls off intergalactic heists in the Outer Rim during a time when criminal organizations were rampant. . Star Wars Outlaws is now available for pre-order on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.

The official story trailer sets up the game’s premise, introducing the various criminal organizations operating during the “Golden Age of Underworld.” Star Wars Desperados takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, as the Empire is embroiled in a long-running conflict with the Rebellion. Kay Vess is a rising villain who finds herself at odds with crime family Zerek Besh and their leader, Sliro. Weiss must join her companion Nyx in a high-wire heist to take down the galaxy’s most dangerous criminal syndicate in exchange for her freedom.

The trailer shows off the criminal factions, different planets Wes will encounter on his journey, as well as some crime bosses and gangsters, including familiar faces from Star Wars movies like “Jabba the Hutt.” Weiss must gather a crew and find the right ship to take on this daunting task and find her freedom.

The Star Wars Desperados trailer goes on to show off some action-packed encounters and firefights. The game's first trailer was released last June, showing off gameplay details. Developed by Ubisoft Massive, Star Wars Desperados will feature an open world featuring new and returning locations from the Star Wars universe. Players can pilot their airship to explore the vast outdoors, meet other outlaws, perform missions in the city and taverns, and participate in melee battles on the ship.

Ubisoft also confirmed the version of the game along with a new story trailer. Star Wars Outlaws will be available in Standard, Gold, and Ultimate Editions. Pre-ordering both versions will give players three days early access to the game and some additional content, including a season pass that includes two post-launch DLCs.

Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30th on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
