According to their vision and permanent commitment for the welfare of the tribals, on Wednesday, the Directorate of Tribal Affairs said that it has prepared itself to ensure regional development through efficient implementation of scholarship schemes for tribal students.
Director Tribal Affairs said that there will be no delay in the disbursement of scholarship among the actual ST students and measures have been taken to reduce the release of the scholarship. He reported that due to comprehensive outreach and publicity, more than 30,000 applications have been received under both schemes for 2024-25, which is more than 120% of applications received in the previous academic year 2023-24.
He said that the process of verification and course wise group has been completed by incorporating around 670 universities, colleges and schools. He said that real students will receive their scholarship through DBT mode as per the procedural guidelines of the Ministry of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
He said that this process is being done on the basis of war and as soon as the master waiting in the course is done by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, further process will begin immediately regarding the disbursement of scholarship among eligible students.
The director further stated that the department is working to strengthen application and disbursement procedures, increase transparency and strengthen the monitoring mechanism to guarantee timely distribution of scholarship.
“This step shows the government’s continuous commitment to promote educational equity and empowerment among tribal communities,” he said.
Referring to some social media reports about the alleged delay in the scholarship disbursement among ST students, he denied the claim that the process is in its final stages.
“The department is committed to ensuring that the amount of scholarship is distributed in a transparent manner and to the right beneficiaries.
The concerned authorities have been directed to ensure that each eligible student gets his scholarship benefits without any delay, ”he said.
He further said that the Minister of Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana has issued strict instructions to all the concerned to ensure that each eligible tribal (ST) students are capable of arriving and benefiting from the available scholarship schemes for them. He further said that Javed Rana had emphasized that any qualified student should not be deprived of educational opportunities due to delay, administrative laps or lack of awareness.
