SS Rajamouli team denies casting Chelsea Islan alongside Mahesh Babu in director’s next

The shooting of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film starring Mahesh Babu has not started yet. The director, known for the success of ‘RRR’, is yet to start his next project. The upcoming film, currently titled SSMB29, stars Mahesh Babu in the lead role and is written by Rajamouli’s father, writer Vijayendra Prasad. Recently, rumors surfaced about American-born Indonesian actor Chelsea Islam joining the cast. The question of who Chelsea Islam is has raised eyebrows among fans.

Chelsea Allan was born in Queens, New York, to an Indonesian mother and an American father. She moved to Indonesia for her education. In 2013, she made her debut in the movie “Refrain” with Afgansyah Reza and Maudy Ayunda. But she rose to fame through the hit sitcom Tetangga Masa Gitu, which aired from 2014 to 2017. Her latest film is “The Devil Takes You, Too” released in 2020. The actress has appeared in Indonesian movies and shows so far.

She later gained widespread recognition with the action film “Street Society” and the biopic “Merry Riana: Mimpi Sejuta Dolar”. The actress will soon be seen in upcoming films including “Godam & Tira” and “Sebelum Iblis Menjemput Ayat 3: Dajjal”.

In addition to her acting career, Chelsea has appeared in numerous commercials for brands such as L’Oréal, Garnier, Tokopedia, Pizza Hut, Oppo, Magnum, Rexona and Matahari Department Store.

Despite recent rumors doing the rounds in the Tollywood industry, director SS Rajamouli’s team has denied Hollywood star Chelsea Islan’s involvement in their upcoming project, tentatively titled SSMB 29. Following Rajamouli on Instagram, the film’s production team has clarified that these rumors are baseless.
