Srinagar, 9 July : In an important step to end the drug threat and end the infrastructure that supports the drug trafficking, the Srinagar Police has attached a residential property of about ₹ 75 lakhs under the drug and psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act.
A single-storey residential house with a single-storey residential house in which Yajan is located in Srinagar, and two notorious drug pedals brothers- Arafan Ahmed Gani and Aij Ahmed Gani, are in possession of sons of Manzoor Ahmed Ghani.
Both individuals are included in FIR number 05/2025 and FIR number 136/2024 registered in police stations Panthachowk and Safakadal respectively under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
Investigation has revealed that the said property was acquired through income from smuggling of illegal drugs registered in his father’s name.
Acting under sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, Srinagar Police formally seized and seized real estate according to the appointed legal process.
The property cannot be sold, transferred, or otherwise dealt with without prior approval from the competent authority.
Accused individuals have a history of involvement in drug pedaling, mainly targeting local youth, pose a serious threat to public health and safety.
This action is part of the rift run by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on the network of drugs, with focusing on eliminating financial structures that enable such illegal operations.
