Squadron Leader Rashmi Thakur will lead the marching contingent of the Indian Air Force on duty in the Republic Day Parade here on January 26. Fifteen women pilots of the Indian Air Force will also operate various platforms during the aerial flypast, officials said.

Thakur will lead the marching contingent of the Indian Air Force, which will include Squadron Leader Sumita Yadav, Squadron Leader Pratithi Ahluwalia and Flight Lieutenant Kirti Rohil as additional officers, he said. Squadron Leader Thakur is a fighter controller.

Apart from the marching contingent of the Indian Air Force, the tri-service contingent of Agniveervayu (Women) will participate in the parade.

Officials said that a total of 48 Agniveervayu women will be part of this team.

Flight Lieutenant Srishti Verma will march as an additional officer of the tri-service contingent. The theme of the Republic Day tableau of the Indian Air Force will be “Indian Air Force: Capable, Empowered, Self-reliant”.

Flight Lieutenant Ananya Sharma and Flying Officer Asma Sheikh, both Su-30 pilots, will be present at the tableau.
