South Carolina University warns students of the shooter active near the library at Columbia campus

Columbia, SC (AP) – Students of South Carolina University received a warning about a possible active shooter near a library in the main campus in Columbia on Sunday, although there was no immediate report of the removal of any shots.

The school sent an alert after 6:45 pm, in which students were ordered to vacate the area near Thomas Cooper Library, look for shelter if necessary and stop themselves.

The alert describes a white male suspect, wearing about 6 feet (1.8 m) long, black pants.

Alert says, “If you face the suspect, defend yourself.” “Follow the orders of public safety officers.”

Alert did not confirm that there was a shoot.

Around 38,000 students participate in school at the center of the city which is a home of about 145,000 people.
