Shubman Gill is the rising superstar of Indian cricket and is on everyone’s radar. He is a regular feature in various schedules of the Indian cricket team and also participated in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He is also the captain of the Gujarat Titans. Last year, in IPL 2023, Gill had a stellar season, scoring 890 runs in 17 matches, including 3 centuries and 4 fifties. One of his games was against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In that match, GT chased down the target of 198 in 19.1 overs.

Shubman Gill scored 104 runs off 52 balls and shared a 71-ball stand of 123 runs with Vijay Shankar (53, 35b).

The young man’s comments while interacting with famous singer Ed Sheeran divided social media. During the conversation, Ed Sheeran came to know that Gill plays for the cricket team owned by Shah Rukh Khan. Sheeran replied that he would have dinner with SRK later, to which Gill quickly said – “Ask him why they didn’t keep me?”. It was a light-hearted moment that went viral on social media.

The singer also asked: “Do you have a girlfriend?” The player replied “No.” Sheeran then looked into the camera and said, “In the market.” He then went on to show Gill a picture of some cricketers, which had apparently been sent by a friend of the singer’s wife.

However, Gill lost his cool during GT’s match against RR in IPL 2024 on Wednesday. An umpire’s decision clearly annoyed Shubman Gill as he could be seen chatting animatedly with the umpire. The incident occurred on the 17th when Mohit Sharma of GT Racing Team was batting.

The final pass was given grace as Gill went upstairs to play DRS. On that delivery, batsman Sanju Samson moved a little outside while trying to hit the ball. The third referee initially gave a fair pass and then declared the ball wide. The decision left Gill completely frustrated and he had a long and animated conversation with umpire Vinod Cézanne. But widespread appeals remain.
