Pakistan T20I captain Shaheen Afridi opted for a coverdrive from teammate Babar Azam over India icon Virat Kohli. Kohli and Babar are two of the finest batsmen of their generation and their cover drives are widely admired in the cricket world. In a viral video, former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik asked Shaheen and veteran fast bowler Mohammad Amir to choose between Kohli and Babar as far as their cover drives are concerned. Aamir, who has often cited Kohli as his favourite, went for the India icon while Shaheen decided to remain loyal to his teammate, citing Babar’s cover drive as the best.

However, Aamir was surprised to hear Shaheen’s answer and his reaction went viral on social media.

Both of them were also asked whether they would like to play under the captaincy of Kohli or Babar and Aamir immediately replied that he would like to captain the star Indian cricket team.

The video of the entire conversation was first shared by ILT20 League franchise, Desert Vipers.

Before returning to Pakistan earlier this month for the current season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Aamir and Shaheen played a few matches together for the franchise.

While Shaheen is the captain of Lahore Qalandars, who has led them to consecutive titles in the last two seasons, Aamir is part of Quetta Gladiators.

However, Lahore Qalandars have lost their first three games so far. They lost to Multan Sultans by a narrow margin on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Aamir recently talked about the speculations about his return to international cricket.

“To be honest, this debate is closed for me. There is no chance at the moment. No one is certain about life but for me this (chance of an international comeback) is no longer a question. I have been struggling for the last three days. I am out of the international circuit. While talking to the media, Aamir, while answering a question from NDTV, said, “For more years, I don’t think I will make a comeback.”

Meanwhile, Kohli recently announced that he and his actress wife Anushka Sharma were blessed with a baby boy on February 15.

Kohli and Anushka are already parents to three-year-old daughter Vamika. With their first newborn, the likes of Virat and Anushka decided not to share his pictures on social media, and haven’t even introduced him in public yet.

As with Akay, the strategy is likely to be similar for Virat and Anushka, with parents determined to protect their children’s identities on social media platforms.
