The mother of a 10-year-old girl has been charged with murder after an investigation revealed she died from a stab wound to the chest.

Shay Kang was found dead in Robin Close, Rowley Regis, West Midlands, after police were called at around 12.10pm on March 4.

A brief hearing at Black Country Coroner’s Court on Thursday heard Shea’s cause of death had been determined to be a stabbing.

Black Country coroner Joanne Lees, who postponed the inquest until a firm date, said: “The death of Shay Kang was reported to the coroner by West Midlands Police.

“Police reported to the coroner that they had attended the address of Robin Close and found Shay dead at the property.

“An autopsy has been carried out and the medical cause of death has been determined to be a stab wound to the chest.”
