Shark Tank India has been making headlines ever since it returned for its third season. Recently, the show’s makers dropped a promo for the upcoming episode, in which Vinita “The Shark” Singh calls the pitcher’s business model “meaningless.”

The video shows the owners of Artinci, a brand that sells sugar-free desserts, pitching their product to sharks. They revealed that their product could solve the dessert cravings of diabetics. After tasting their coconut ice cream, Vineeta Singh said, “Bohot yum hai (This is very delicious)”. Namita Thapar also added, “Generally, sugar-free products have an aftertaste, but this one tastes like added sugar.”

When Namita asked about the sales of the pitchers, they said, “Last year, we had sales of Rs 44 crore.” When the owners revealed that they were facing losses, Anupan then asked about the profits. “There is no profit, a loss of Rs 5 crore,” they said. This shocked Vineeta Singh, who later called the business model “pointless” and said: “You’re selling at a loss at the unit level, which makes no sense.”

It will be interesting to see if the pitcher gets a deal from the Sharks.
