Poonch, May 16: Principal Secretary, Department of Agriculture Production, Shailendra Kumar visited Pinch district today and recently met families affected by cross border shelling.
During the journey, Shailendra went to the affected villages and personally met with families who suffer due to shelling.
Expressing his solidarity, he assured them of full support of the government and directed the district administration to adopt an active, public focused approach for relief and rehabilitation.
As part of his journey, the Principal Secretary also went to Mankot, where he met a woman’s condolences, who lost his life in the shelling incident.
Expressing condolences, the Principal Secretary assured him that the administration stands shoulder to shoulder with the affected families.
Deputy Commissioner Ponch, Vikas Kundal, during the journey, informed the Principal Secretary on relief and restoration work done in the affected areas.
DC reported that electricity and water supply has been completely restored, hospitals are functioning normally, and all essential services are running smoothly.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch further informed the Principal Secretary that the village level evaluation team has already been formed and is actively working to identify and documents the loss.
He also informed that for the ease of the affected people, the district administration has also launched the ‘Support to Support’ initiative, under which Tehsil War WhatsApp numbers have been issued to report losses or to take help directly and efficiently.
Shailendra appreciated the quick and coordinated response of the district administration and an efficient, and people emphasized the importance of continuous relief measures to focus.
