Legendary Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan on Friday met the teams of Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the opening clash between the two sides of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) season two. The ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ is set to perform at the star-studded opening ceremony of WPL season two on Friday, which will also be attended by other Bollywood stars like Shahid Kapoor, Kartik Aryan, Varun Dhawan and Tiger Shroff.

In a video posted by the official Twitter handle of WPL, Shahrukh was seen meeting various MI and DC stars, including MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur, DC vice-captain Jemimah Rodrigues and DC captain, Australian legend Meg Lanning.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ sharing a moment with the ‘Queen of Cricket’ Lanning and striking his trademark pose with her. The multiple-time World Cup-winning captain for Australia was also happy after interacting with the global film icon.

The second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) begins on Friday, with defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals in the opening match of a high-octane tournament at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The opening match of the tournament could set the perfect tone for Delhi, as they will be keen to put behind them the pain of their defeat to Mumbai in last year’s final and clinch the gold medal. Meg Lanning will have her eyes set on gold as she hopes to clinch the title of women’s franchise cricket’s latest championship after conquering international cricket Australia around the world.

The tournament will run till March 17 and will be held in Bengaluru and Delhi.

The summit clash will be held on March 17 in New Delhi while the eliminator will be played on March 15. The tournament will be hosted by Delhi and Bengaluru.
