Setback in Uddhav camp, former minister Babanrao Gholap joins Sindh group

In a fresh setback for Uddhav Thackeray’s camp ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, former Maharashtra minister and Shiv Sena (UBT) deputy leader Baban Rao Golap on Saturday Joined the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Mr Gholap was welcomed by Mr Shinde at the banquet in the presence of State Minister Dada Bhuse and Maharashtra Legislative Council Vice Chairman Neelam Gorhe.

Mr Golap, a five-time MLA from Nashik district, joining the Shinde camp may boost the party’s prospects in northern Maharashtra.

Former MP Sanjay Pawar has also joined Shinde’s Sena party.
