Sentence hearing continues for leaders of 'freedom convoy', lich, barber

Ottawa – The sentence for the leaders of “Freedom convoy” continues in Tamara Lich and Chris Barber today in Ottawa, both were found guilty of mischief after months.

Lich’s lawyer Lawrence Greecepon is expected to submit a sentence during this morning hearing.

A crown prosecutor is expected to respond to the judge before his discussions begin.

The Crown Lich is demanding a seven -year jail sentence and an eight -year sentence for the barber, which was also found guilty of counseling others for disregarding the court order.

Barber’s lawyer Dyne Magas said that she wants a complete discharge for her client as she has been on bail for the last three and a half years without any incident.

Both Lich and Nai were found guilty of mischief in April for their leading roles in protest against the convoy, seeking that the activists had seen most of Otawa’s time for three weeks in the end of January 2022 to oppose Tik’s mandate and other epidemic measures.
