‘Send your message’: Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita shares WhatsApp number

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife today shared a helpline number for his supporters to share their messages with the AAP chief. Arvind Kejriwal has been jailed in a liquor policy case since his arrest last week.

“We are driving from today – ‘Kejriwal ko Aashirvaad’. You can send wishes and prayers to him through WhatsApp number 8297324624. You can send any message you want,” Sunita Kejriwal said in a video message.

She said many people had called her to say they were fasting awaiting Mr Kejriwal’s release.

“That’s the love people have for him. Whatever you want to tell us, send it to us. Every message you have will reach him and he will love reading it. You don’t have to be an AAP guy to write to him letter,” Ms. Kejriwal added.

Ms Kejriwal spoke directly to AAP supporters via video about her husband’s arrest.

She told reporters outside a Delhi court yesterday that her husband was in critical condition in the emergency room. “His current health condition is not good. Your chief minister is being harassed. The public will give a befitting reply to this,” she said while the court extended his custody till April 1.

Kejriwal, who was arrested on March 21, is the third AAP leader after Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh to be arrested in connection with the liquor policy scam. Taking to court yesterday, he called the case against him a “political conspiracy”.

ED believes that the now-defunct policy provided high profit margins of nearly 185% to retailers and 12% to wholesalers. The agency alleged that a portion of the wholesaler’s commission was recovered as bribe and allegedly used by the AAP for Goa election campaign.
