Selena Gomez recently addressed the pressure of unrealistic beauty standards at the TIME100 Summit in New York City on April 24.
Wednesday while discussing the impact of her cosmetics line, Rare Beauty Only murders in the building The star said, “I thought it was a very unrealistic standard when it came to the cosmetic world and it makes me a little sad for my generation.”

Gomez noted, “So, I really wanted to do makeup that was fun for people.”
She added, “I don’t believe in looking a certain way. I spent years trying to do that and it’s a waste. A waste of time.”
During the summit, Gomez explained, “I didn’t really want to enter the world of cosmetics without a mission.”
He added, “It was truly a dream that happened within this brand, and on top of that we were able to create great products as expected.”
