The Prince and Princess of Wales took an unprecedented step earlier this week to celebrate the sixth birthday of their youngest son, Prince Louis.
Instead of sending a traditional birthday photo to media outlets, Kensington Palace opted to unveil the unseen photo through Welles’ social media.
The decision may have been taken in response to the criticism Kate faced after posting an edited photo of herself and her children on Mother’s Day last month.
talking to amazingIngrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, suggested the couple would take a similar approach to Princess Charlotte, who turns 9 next month.
“When the Princess of Wales was attacked for editing her Mother’s Day family photo, it hurt her deeply.
“She was taking pictures of her children since they were born.
She explained: “When multiple photo agencies decided to take down her photoshopped Mother’s Day photo, she was so hurt that she and William decided together that if they were going to let the world see photos of their children, it would be on their terms “
“Now when they release any pictures it will be through their Kensington Palace offices, that way they have control.
“This is a small but necessary step toward protecting their family in the increasingly hostile world of social media and beyond,” the royal expert said.
