Kalash puja was performed on the banks of river Saryu by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Anil Mishra, his wife and others.
A member of the temple trust said “Kalash Puja” was held on Wednesday as part of the rituals being performed ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple here on January 22. The rituals began on Tuesday, and trust general secretary Champat Rai had said they would continue till January 21. On the day of consecration, minimum necessary rituals required for the “pran pratishtha” of Ram Lalla idol will be conducted, he had said.

According to Mishra, after this ritual, pots filled with Saryu water will be taken to the place (Ram temple complex) where the pre-consecration ritual is being conducted. Mishra who is the “host” for the “puja” will have to participate in all the rituals, including those performed on January 22.
There are 121 “Acharyas” who are conducting the rituals, and Ganeshwar Shastri is supervising, coordinating and directing all the proceedings of the Dravidian “rituals”. The head Acharya will be Laxmikant Dixit of Kashi. Ram Mandir ”Pran Pratishtha” will begin at 12.20 pm on January 22 and is expected to end by 1 pm.
