Second American child dies from measles, about 650 sick

Arun Jain, 07/04/2025

Washington:

A measles wrath has killed another child in the South -West United States, officials said on Sunday that around 650 people are now infected as spreading highly infectious diseases.

“We have been deeply saddened by AFP, vice-president of UMC Health System, a medical center in Texas,” We have been deeply saddened by a school-age class child who has recently died with measles. “

The child was receiving treatment for “measles complications” in the hospital, he said, “he was” not vaccinated against measles and there were no built -in health conditions. “

As the US struggles with the outbreak of its worst measles over the years, Robert F. Kennedy Junior, has reduced the importance of vaccines with his previous rhetoric to health experts.

Kennedy, however, was posted to X Sunday that “the most effective way to stop the spread of measles is the MMR vaccine.”

He said that his Health and Human Services (HHS) Department and Disease Control and Prevention Center (CDC) were supporting the distribution of shots in Texas.

Kennedy, who said that he had traveled to Texas to relax the child’s family, as Sunday “in 499 out of 499 in Texas,” 642 measles in 22 states “in 499.

The Air Force was questioned by journalists riding in one, Trump reduced the outbreak, “In a very small number of people relating to what we are talking so far.”

But he said that if it “moves forward, then we have to take very strong action without giving further information.”

‘Importance of vaccination’

CDC has also registered cases in Alaska to Florida, as well as New York City.

In late February, Texas reported his first measles death of a child – the first American deadly from the disease in about a decade.

Last month, the death of a new Mexico adult was also classified by CDC as a deadly belonging to measles.

CDC – 97 percent – most of the cases of measles – patients have not been vaccinated against measles, it has been said on 3 April.

The health agency said that some of them were under 196 years of age, 240 5–19 years of age, and additional 159 were 20 years or more, with some other people of unknown age.

CDC, which defines a “outbreak” as three or more related cases, has so far recorded six outbreaks in 2025. Some 93 percent confirmed cases are related to those outbreaks.

“For comparison, 16 outbreaks were reported during 2024 and were associated with 69 percent of cases (1985 in 1985),” said this on its website.

“This unfortunate event underlines the importance of vaccination,” Davis of the UMC Health System in Texas said in an email about the latest death.

“We encourage all individuals to live present with their vaccinations to protect themselves and the broader community.”
