The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Saturday that Saudi Arabia announced a successful pilot launch of drone-based medical distribution between primary health centers and hospitals in holy sites, an important milestone and first-time initiative, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Saturday.
The project aims to increase the efficiency of health services provided to pilgrims during the 1446 HAJJ season.
The achievement was made possible through active cooperation between maize health clusters and National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO), which jointly ensured the supply of drugs and medical equipment to the holy sites using drones.
This initiative is designed to support response time and healthcare operation by distributing drugs and medical supply during HAJJ. In a prominent example, Meena Emergency Hospital received a drone delivery of ice packs used to treat heat tiredness and sunstroke as part of intensive preparation effort on the first day of Eid al-Adha.
The initiative aligns with the commitment of healthcare systems to create a safe and healthy environment that enables pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and comfort. It also reflects efforts to provide world class health services services to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. (ANI/WAM)
