New information has come to light in the case of a 28-year-old female doctor found dead in a hotel room late on Thursday night. According to latest reports, she died by suicide and left a note accusing two police personnel of rape and mental harassment.

She wrote a suicide note on her palm, naming police sub-inspector Gopal Badane, accused of raping her multiple times, and Prashant Bankar, another personnel accused of mental and physical harassment.

A case has been registered against both the accused Maharashtra Police personnel. An official spokesperson said, “We have registered a case and the body has been sent for post-mortem. We are also investigating the allegations mentioned in the suicide note found on the victim’s hand.”

Satara district SP Tushar Doshi said, “The accused PSI has been suspended from duty with immediate effect.”

What do we know so far?

The doctor, originally from Beed district, was working in Phaltan Hospital. Her family has alleged that something suspicious must have happened, and it was not just a simple suicide.

She alleged that she was under pressure from the police and politicians who were allegedly forcing her to make false post-mortem reports in some cases. The victim’s family alleged that she faced harassment and threats when she refused.

Her relative said, “She was bright and ambitious. We nurtured her since childhood and helped her in her education. She was under work pressure and that is why she took this step. The culprits should be punished.”

One of his close relatives said that just two days before he died he had told them that his superiors at work were harassing him.

Doctor accused of false post mortem

Now a woman named Bhagyashree Maruti Pachangane from Satara district has alleged that her daughter Deepali, who died on August 17, did not commit suicide but died under suspicious circumstances. Bhagyashree has claimed that the doctor was under pressure to make changes in the post-mortem report.

She told that Deepali was being mentally and physically tortured by her husband and in-laws for a long time. Bhagyashree claimed that her daughter would often tell her about the abuse she faced at home.

According to reports, Deepali died on August 19 and police initially said it was a suicide. But Bhagyashree believes something is wrong, and suspects that her daughter may have been murdered.

He also alleged that the police did not give the post-mortem report to the family even five days after the death. Bhagyashree is now demanding a full investigation into her daughter’s death to find out the truth behind what really happened.

Bhagyashree said, “My daughter could not have done this. She was six months pregnant and had a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter – how could she leave them? She would never do such a thing. I believe she was murdered.”
