Samsung is said to be testing these performance improvements for the Exynos 2500

Samsung is already testing the performance of its Exynos 2500 SoC, which the company claims could power its next flagship smartphone, according to people familiar with the matter. The chip is said to perform better than Qualcomm’s current flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launched in October 2023. Unlike recently leaked benchmark scores for the alleged Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and MediaTek, details on the chip’s performance are currently unclear. The Dimensity 9400 chipset has recently appeared online.

Specifications of the Exynos 2500 “Dream Chip” Give way Earlier this year, the chipset will include one Cortex-X5 core clocked at 3.2GHz or higher, three Cortex-A730 cores clocked up to 2.5GHz, two additional Cortex-A730 cores and four clock speeds Undisclosed Cortex-A520 core.

While benchmarks for the Exynos 2500 have yet to be published online, details about the three competing flagship processors have leaked. Early benchmarks for Apple’s rumored A18 Pro show the chip scoring 3,570 points in Geekbench 6’s single-core test and a multi-core score of 9,310 points.

Likewise, in recent benchmarks, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is said to have scored 2,845 points in single-core and 10,628 points in multi-core. Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship mobile processor is expected to compete with the Dimensity 9400 chip, which is said to have single-core and multi-core scores of 2,776 and 11,739 points respectively.

These early benchmarks suggest that both the rumored Qualcomm and MediaTek chips will offer better multi-core performance than the A18 Pro. We expect to hear more about the Exynos 2500 in the coming months, with the chip likely to debut in the next-generation Galaxy S25 series of smartphones in early 2025.
