The Samsung Galaxy S24 series will be made in India, and the company is going to use its large Noida factory unit to manufacture these devices for the domestic and global markets. The update was shared by JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung India on Thursday.
Samsung had started production at the same plant a few years ago, showing its focus and commitment to the Indian market. The new Galaxy S24 lineup is the first to come with AI-focused features powered by Google’s Gemini Large Language Model.
Samsung has three main devices to choose from: the vanilla Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S24 Plus, and the top-of-the-line Galaxy S24 Ultra.
This year, the Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at Rs 1,29,999 for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 512GB variant is priced at Rs 1,39,999 and the 1TB variant comes at Rs 1,59,999. The Galaxy S24 Plus is slightly cheaper and now has 12GB RAM as standard in all variants. Its price starts at Rs 99,999 for the 256GB base model and goes up to Rs 1,09,999 for the 512GB variant.
The Galaxy S24 is the smallest of the three models, coming in at 6.2-inches and it comes with 8GB of RAM across all variants. The 256GB model is priced at Rs 79,999, while the 512GB variant is priced at Rs 89,999, which means there is no 128GB model from the company this year for buyers in India. Pre-booking of the phones has started from January 18 and they will be available in the country from January 31.
