Samsung Galaxy AI now supports these languages and dialects

By | Published | No Comments

Samsung has updated its suite of native artificial intelligence (AI) features for its smartphone Galaxy AI with support for new languages and dialects. The update adds three new languages and three dialects to the AI tool. The additions are part of the Korean tech giant’s spring 2024 update. The company also revealed that it plans to add four more languages and two dialects later this year. The addition of these languages brings the total number of supported languages to 20.

This news was released by Samsung US Newsroom postal. TM Roh, president and head of mobile experience business at Samsung Electronics, said: “Galaxy AI is committed to democratizing mobile artificial intelligence for everyone, and this year’s language expansion of Galaxy AI will enable more Galaxy users to communicate beyond language barriers on a scale of Unique to Samsung Electronics. Samsung. We will continue to innovate technology and create premium mobile AI experiences so that more users are equipped with the right tools to unlock unlimited potential.”

The three new languages added to Galaxy AI are Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian. In addition to Australian English, Cantonese and Canadian French dialects have been added. Additionally, later this year, Samsung plans to add four more languages, including Romanian, Turkish, Dutch, and Swedish. Two additional dialects – Traditional Chinese and European Portuguese – will also be added.

Language support is important for many of Galaxy AI’s features. For example, real-time translation can perform two-way real-time voice and text translation of phone calls, requiring artificial intelligence to understand the language and dialect to translate. Likewise, the Interpreter feature can instantly translate live conversations via a split-screen view so two people standing face to face can see each other’s translations. This also requires language support for artificial intelligence to analyze speech.

Galaxy AI was launched by tech giant Samsung Galaxy S24 series. However, it was recently expanded to the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series with the One UI 6.1 update.
