Portugal’s data regulator has ordered Sam Altman’s iris-scanning project Worldcoin to stop collecting biometric data in Portugal within 90 days, the regulator said in a statement on Tuesday.

The watchdog CNPD said it had received dozens of complaints last month about the unauthorized collection of data on minors, “deficiencies in the information provided to data subjects” and “the inability to delete data or withdraw consent”.
