Sakeena iToo reviews progress on the control of projects under PMJVK

Srinagar, May 22: Minister of Health and Medical Education, Minister of Social Welfare and Education, Sakna Itu, today chaired a meeting to review the progress on the order and implementation of projects under Prime Minister Jan Vikas Karakaram (PMJVK) in Civil Secretary.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Education, Shantamanu; Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Sanjeev Verma; Project Director Samagra, Bhavani Rakhwal; Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. GN Itu; Director School Education Jammu, Naseem Javed Chaudhary; Directors are planning to have higher education department and other officials.

During the meeting, Minister Sekena held a detailed discussion about the projects proposed under the scheme. He said that this major plan will definitely promote inclusive development of minority communities.

The minister called upon the officials to consult public representatives for the construction of schemes under this scheme so that they could be formed according to the needs of the public. He also asked them to coordinate with the deputy commissioners concerned to avoid repetition of works.

He paid attention to the authorities to do detailed ground work about the need for tasks in education and health sectors so that the necessary infrastructure could be created under this scheme.

Minister Sekaina emphasized the officials that every criteria such as availability of land and other related items should be checked in advance so that no approved project faces any obstacle during the execution phase. He further asked the authorities to prepares new schemes for projects and prioritize the quality and need of projects instead of quantity.

The minister insisted on giving priority to far away areas so that necessary infrastructure could also be established in these areas, for the welfare of the people living there. “PMJVK is an important initiative to ensure similar development of areas with adequate minority population. We need to ensure that the benefits of this scheme reach the ground level in a efficient way”, Sekena retained.

Minister Sekena also underlined the importance of community engagement and participation scheme to identify priority areas and ensure local requirements through these projects. He confirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development and reiterated that PMJVK projects should reflect justified access and opportunities for all one and all.

During the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department informed the minister about the shape of PMJVK.
