Sakeena Itoo distributes relief checks of Rs 15 lakh among the fire victims in Baramulla

Health and Medical Education Minister, Social Welfare and Education, Education, Sekena Itu, today distributed a relief check of Rs 13 lakh among 25 fire affected families of Old Town Baramulla Mohalla Jalal Sahib.

Assistance was provided under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund during a distribution ceremony held in the bungalow.

MLA Maramulla Javilla Baig; MLA Uri Sajjad Shafi; MLA Sopore, Irshad Rasol Kar and other senior officials of the district administration were also present on the occasion.

The minister expressed his heartfelt solidarity with the victims, confirming the government’s commitment to stand with citizens in time of crisis. “This is not just financial assistance, it is the government’s commitment to provide assistance to our citizens in time of crisis”, he said.

The minister asked the administration to ensure active measures to prevent such incidents in future, including better fire safety infrastructure and awareness in weak areas. He also instructed the district administration to ensure all the necessary rehabilitation measures without any delay.

While interacting with the victims, the minister assured them of continuous support from the government.

The victims expressed gratitude for timely intervention and appreciated the active role of the government in the facility of very necessary relief.

The incident of fire on March 2025, which took place in March 2025, severely damaged 13 residential structures, affecting 25 families of 25 families of Mohalla Jalal Sahib, Old Town Baramulla.
