Kulgam, May 01, KDC: In promoting the Rural Health Service infrastructure, the Minister of Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sekena Itu today inaugurated the Shahd Wali Mohammad Itu Memorial Sub-District Hospital (SDH) building, which builds DHO Pora and new types of primary health center (NTPHC) building.
Calling the long pending demand for the local population, these health facilities are ready to increase medical care services in this rural belt of the district.
The sub-district hospital, a project of Rs 11 crore, is built by the Police Housing Corporation and is expected to fulfill a large population, which will improve access to quality healthcare.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Sakna confirmed the government’s commitment to strengthen rural health facilities. He outlined the importance of such projects in ensuring similar health services for all.
He said that the government led by Omar Abdullah is dedicated to public welfare and in recent months several initiatives have been taken to uplift the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He also directed the officials to accommodate 30 beds Ayush in the hospital.
Local people appreciated the government’s active steps in meeting the needs of important health services of the region.
Later during the day, the minister visited Shaheed Sabzar Ahmed Shah Memorial Girls High School in Ahmedabad, Kulgam.
Talking with students and employees on the occasion, Sakna focused the government on providing quality education in every corner of Jammu and Kashmir.
Director School Education, Director Health, Director Coordination New GMC, Director ICDS and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. (KDC)
