Handwada, President and MLA of People’s Conference, Sajad Gani Loan called for “scientific and statistical analysis of reservation”, claiming that the current policy structure is affecting heterogeneous damage on the Kashmiri-speaking ethnic group.
In a detailed statement, Lone revealed that he has filed an application under the Right to Information (RTI) Act to obtain relevant data that would form the foundation of “statistically scientific basis” to evaluate the impact of reservation.
He said, “I have filed an application under RTI to get some data. It would provide a statistical scientific basis to evaluate the damage on the Kashmiri speaking ethnic group due to reservation,” he said.
Explaining the method of analysis, which he intends to start, Lone said, “We need data on real qualifications in an examination conducted for recruitment. Kashmiri speaking ethnic group.
According to the Chairman of the PC, the selection data of ten exams will serve as a sample, which can later be expanded to obtain a statistically important figure, called “damage”.
He said, “If the government actually comes with anything, we will implement that new reservation system in the final ten recruitment lists issued by the government and see if it changes anything or makes cases worse for the Kashmiri speaking ethnic group,” he said.
Explaining the approach as evidence-based and rational, Lone said, “Now this is a scientific process. Let us end all the debates and decide the things purely on scientific basis. And apply measures on scientific basis.”
In a comment, he warned against allowing electoral calculations to eliminate the interests of the youth. The loan concluded, “Let us separate the votes different from the future of our youth.
