Moscow’s Defense Ministry said a Russian military cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff in the country’s western Ivanovo region.
Aeroflot said the IL-76 crashed around 1pm Moscow time on Tuesday when one of its engines caught fire. TASS The news agency quoted the country’s Defense Ministry as saying.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said the crash site was northeast of the Russian capital and that there were eight crew members and seven passengers on board.
