Prince Nicholas and Princess Tatiana of Greece have decided to end their marriage after 13 years of marriage.

The news was announced on the official website of Greece’s former royal family on Friday.

“Prince Nicholas and Princess Tatiana have decided to dissolve their marriage after fourteen years of living together,” the statement read.

They continued: “Both expressed the difficulty of making this decision, as well as their deep appreciation and respect for each other and the love they have developed along the way over the years.”

“The same values ​​of respect and understanding will form the basis of their future relationship, a relationship of deep and genuine friendship. They will continue to live and be active in Greece, where they both feel at home.”

The statement added: “The family will always be there for them. Thank you very much for your respect and caution.”

The shocking news comes just weeks after the former couple attended a Thanksgiving ceremony together for Nicholas’ father and King Constantine, the last king of Greece.

Nicholas and Tatian originally tied the knot in August 2010 at the Agios Nicholas Cathedral on the Greek island of Spetses.

They have no children together.
