Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) on Monday shut down unexpectedly due to “mechanical issues”.
In a social media post on Monday morning, ROM reported to be closed to visitors and pre-book tickets will be automatically returned.
The museum is closed today – 14 July.
Due to an unexpected mechanical issue, ROM will be closed on Monday, 14 July. Prebook tickets will be automatically refunded. We apologize for discomfort, and we look forward to welcoming you another day.

Citynews arrived at the museum for more information, and in a statement, he said, “Morning -morning, the museum identified an issue with a small part of the security sprinkler system … We are working to solve it as soon as possible.”
It is not clear when the museum will open again at this time. The museum’s media relationship team said that updates will be shared as soon as they become available.
He said, “We want forgiveness to inconvenience, and we are ready to welcome visitors on another day,” he said.
