It was a night to forget for Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya on Thursday as his team conceded 277/3 in 20 overs, This is the team that has conceded the most goals in the history of IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 31 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Rohit Sharma (26 off 12 balls) and Ishan Kishan (34 off 13 balls) opened the scoring for the visitors after SunRisers Hyderabad scored 277/3 , gave this Mumbai team a hot start. However, two quick penalties helped Hyderabad make a comeback in the game.
Tilak Varma (34 balls, 64 runs) was the only standout batsman for Mumbai. While in the crease, he hit 2 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 188.24.
Tim David (42 runs from 22 balls) tried to partner Tilak but failed to chase down the high-scoring target.
Jaydev Unadkat and Pat Cummins led the Hyderabad bowling attack as they picked up two wickets each in their respective spells. Shahbaz Ahmed took a wicket in the 3-over match to help the home team win the match by 31 runs.

Earlier in the innings, MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and asked hosts SRH to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Openers Mayank Aggarwal and Travis Head batted. The batsmen from both sides hit the offensive ball right from the start of the inning. They built a 45-run partnership in just 4 overs before Mayank was dismissed by Hardik on the first ball of the innings. He scored 11 points.
SRH completed their 50 in 4.4 overs with Head hitting a boundary off Pandya’s bowling. After Mayank was dismissed, Abhishek Sharma came on to bat. He and Hyde put on a 68-run partnership in 23 balls. Hyde was sent back to the pavilion after a brilliant performance of 62 runs off 24 balls, with 9 fours and 3 sixes.
The home team touched the 100-run mark on the last ball of the seventh over when Abhishek struck leg-spinner Piyush Chawla for six.
After Hyder’s wicket, former SRH captain Aiden Markram came to support Abhishek. Both the batsmen put in a stellar performance and struck a partnership of 48 runs in just 19 balls before Abhishek struck out in just 23 balls with the help of 7 full runs and 3 boundaries. Hyderabad reached the 150-run mark on the second ball of the 11th over when the left-hand batsman hit a single off the bowling of Chawla. After Abhishek’s wicket, Klassen came into the middle to bat with Markram.
The duo built an unbeaten partnership of 116 off just 55 balls. Klassen remained unbeaten on 80 in 34 games with 7 top scores and 4 boundaries.
SRH completed 200 on the fourth ball of the 15th over with Klassen hitting a maximum off the bowling of right-arm seamer Jasprit Bumrah and completed the 250-run mark in the 19th over.
For MI, Pandya, Gerald Coetzee and Chawla took a wicket each in their spell as they conceded 46, 57 runs respectively and 34 points.
