“He is undergoing the medical clearance that everyone who is arrested and booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department jail has to go through,” Hochman said. “Once he is medically cleared, he will be brought to court to stand trial on these charges. At that time, he will plead guilty or not guilty.”

If convicted, Renner faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty. “No decision has been made at this point regarding the death penalty,” Hochman said.
