River Indy electric scooter booking reopens; Revised price, check features

Potential customers can reserve Indi by making an online payment of Rs 2,500. Additionally, as per Autocar report, on-site booking option is available at the recently opened showroom in Bengaluru.

Indy’s large storage capacity is one of its standout features. With 43 liters under the seat and an additional 12 liters in the glove compartment, it offers an incredible 55 liters of space to store your belongings.

The Indy is a great option for those who need extra space as it comes with extra accessories like a floor cage, top box and hard panniers to ensure that you always have room for your stuff. There should be no shortage.

The River Indy was introduced in February 2023, and its first few units rolled off the Hoskote manufacturing plant in August of the same year. Bookings for the first batch of Indy scooters began a month later and there were over 200 orders by the end of the month. Furthermore, the first consignment of the scooter was delivered to Bengaluru-based customers in October 2023.

The company – River, which was founded in 2021 – raised fresh money last year led by Al Futtaim Group with major contributions from several other investors.

River Indy: Features, Design and Price

The Indy is powered by a 6.7 kW motor which accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 90 kmph. Claimed range is 120 km, with multiple ride modes available for the rider to choose from. An 800-watt portable charger will be available, as well as an upcoming fast charger.

A 43-litre under-seat storage space, a 12-litre glovebox, and optional accessories like hard panniers and a top box are among the features listed. The plush suspension and 14-inch wheels on either side are perfect for Indian roads.

The Indy is now priced at Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), which is Rs 13,000 more than when it was first launched. Its competitors include the Ather 450S, TVS iQube S and Bajaj Chetak Premium.
