Rishi Sunak ‘not interested in Westminster politics’ and insists party is ‘united’

Rishi Sunak said he had “no interest in Westminster politics” and insisted his party was “united” as he dismissed rumors of a plot to overthrow him.

Asked during a visit to the West Midlands why he did not have the “poisonous grail” of having a “disloyal colleague” as Prime Minister, Mr Sunak said: “I have no respect for all politics in Westminster. Not interested. It doesn’t matter.”

He also insisted his party was “united” after negative briefings against him over the weekend.

“All Conservatives are united in our desire to create a brighter future for our country,” he said.
