Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been declared fit for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Pant suffered a life-threatening car accident in December 2022 and has been unable to compete since then. He missed IPL 2023 due to injuries sustained in a car accident. However, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has given permission for Pant to retain wickets and the player will also lead the team in IPL 2024. After the news of Pant’s return was made official, DC shared a welcome post for their skipper.
“Get ready to roar. Welcome back, Rishabh Pant. Can’t wait to meet you,” DC captioned a picture.
However, one fan was not happy with the DC admin’s editing skills, saying that even he would have made better graphics for the returning Pant, adding that the DC captain might have run away with his car after seeing it.
“It’s a good idea to make the data into bhai. After reading this, you can drive again.” The fan commented.
However, the fan got an unexpected reply from Pant, who saw the humor behind the comment.
Man, when I saw this I went back and drove.

Pant, who will once again captain Delhi Capitals, has undergone extensive rehabilitation and is ready to shoulder double duty in the tournament starting from March 22, ending weeks of speculation surrounding his exact role in the league.
“After a 14-month extensive rehabilitation and recovery process following a life-threatening road accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand on December 30, 2022, Rishabh Pant has now been declared fit and suitable for the upcoming post. The wicketkeeper-batsmen of IPL 2024 will be held, BCCI said in a statement.
A few weeks ago, Pant, in an interaction with Star Sports, recalled telling doctors that his recovery time would be shortened by at least six months.
“I asked the doctor how long it would take for me to recover. I told him, everyone’s story is different, but you will give me the clearest idea. He (the doctor) said it will take 16 to 18 months. I told the doctor, no matter what Whatever schedule you give me, I will take six months off,” Pant told the IPL’s official television broadcaster.
