Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has lived up to the ‘nanny’ tag given to him by former Australia captain Tim Paine at a recent event. In a video posted by DC on its official Instagram account, Pant can be seen sharing a heartwarming moment with the children of the team’s overseas players during the ongoing IPL 2024 match. The video went viral on social media, reminding many cricket fans of the incident that led Paine to come up with the ‘nanny’ sled. The incident happened during India’s tour of Australia in 2019, when Paine asked Pant if he could take care of him and his wife after the episode ended.
Paine later revealed that this was a tactic agreed upon by the team, who believed it could lead to a lack of concentration. After the match, Paine’s wife posted a picture of Pant and the kids on social media and the whole incident ended on a positive note for the cricketer.
Coming to the match, Delhi Capitals defeated Gujarat Titans by six wickets in their last match and Pant won the match with a brilliant performance both as a batsman and as a wicketkeeper.
