Indian cricket team batsman Rinku Singh shared an emotional message for Dhruv Jurel on social media after scoring a brilliant half-century on the third day of the fourth Test against England in Ranchi on Sunday. Rinku shared an old picture with Jurel and captioned it – “My brother, it’s time to make dreams come true.” Both the cricketers play for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and earlier, Jurel had revealed that Rinku is his teammate and over the years, a cordial relationship has developed between them.

On Sunday, on the third day of the fourth Test in Ranchi, England took a lead of 46 runs by dismissing India for 307 runs, thanks to Dhruv Jurel’s inning of 90 runs.

Shoaib Bashir completed his first five-wicket haul in Tests by taking one wicket in the morning session.

Fellow spinner Tom Hartley ended the innings by bowling Jurel just before lunch.

Playing at 219-7 on Sunday morning, Jurel extended his eighth-wicket partnership with Kuldeep Yadav to 76, frustrating England, who scored 353 in their first innings.

The stand was broken by James Anderson when Kuldeep on 28 gave the experienced seamer his 698th Test wicket.

The 41-year-old is now two wickets away from becoming the third bowler to take 700 wickets in Tests after Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and late Australian great Shane Warne (708).

Jurel, who made his debut in the third Test in Rajkot, hit six fours and four sixes in 149 balls and scored his maiden Test half-century.

The 23-year-old is the latest talented new player to shine for India in the absence of veteran Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
