Ram Mandir Ayodhya: HDFC Bank, Axis Bank will remain closed on January 22

Major private sector lenders HDFC Bank and Axis Bank will remain closed on January 22 on the occasion of Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

“The bank (HDFC Bank) will remain closed for the entire day in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on January 22, 2024,” a senior HDFC Bank official said, according to a Moneycontrol report.

According to a Moneycontrol report, an Axis Bank spokesperson said, “Axis Bank will remain closed for the entire day in Uttar Pradesh on January 22.”

The Finance Ministry issued an order on Thursday, stating that public sector banks, insurance companies, financial institutions and regional rural banks will remain closed for half a day on January 22. This decision has been taken regarding the consecration of Ram temple. Ceremony in Ayodhya.

Earlier, the Department of Personnel and Training had issued an order stating that all central government offices, central institutions and central industrial establishments across the country will remain closed for half a day on the day of the Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony.

The Reserve Bank of India has announced the daytime trading hours for the various markets regulated by it. All markets regulated by it, including the money market, repo market, G-Sec market and foreign exchange market, will operate between 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm on Monday.
