Gauchar, Uttarakhand:

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh today said the Congress party will become extinct like the dinosaurs in a few years and likened the Congress party’s infighting to the reality show Bigg Boss.

“The exodus of Congress leaders continues. They are quitting the party and joining the BJP,” he told a rally in Gauchar, Uttarakhand.

“I am afraid that in a few years, the Congress Party will become extinct like the dinosaurs. In the years after 2024, if we take the name of the Congress Party, children will ask, who?” Rajnath Singh added .

He also commented on the infighting in the opposition parties.

“They were fighting with each other every day. The parties had become a bit like the ‘Big Boss’ house on TV. They were tearing each other’s clothes off every day,” Mr Singh said.

The senior BJP leader is here to campaign for the party’s Anil Baluni candidate from Pauri Lok Sabha seat.

The Defense Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has become a strong country. Its voice was heard clearly and taken seriously in international forums, Rajnath Singh added.

Rajnath Singh said the world is recognizing the progress India has made over the past few years.

He also quoted US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti as saying that if the world must see the future, it should come to India.

“Most of our defense equipment is now produced in India. Earlier, we exported defense equipment worth only Rs 6 billion. In just seven years, we exported defense equipment worth more than Rs 21,000 crore. India is not an ordinary country now ,” the defense minister said.

Singh described the BJP as a party that walks its talk and said it implements its manifesto verbatim.

“We said we would abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and we did it. We said we would bring the Citizenship Amendment Bill and we did it. We have been saying we will bring in the Citizenship Amendment Act in Ayodhya since 1984 Build a magnificent Rama temple, we have done that too,” he said.

“Instead, parties like the Congress have been making false promises to people. If they fulfill 50 per cent of the promises made in the manifesto, India will become a developed country,” he said.
