Rajasthan man missing for two years found in Mumbai, reunited with relatives

A 35-year-old man who went missing from his hometown Alwar in Rajasthan state two years ago was found and reunited with his family in Mumbai on Sunday, a police official said.

Assistant police inspector Gokul Bhoi said the man, Amit Kumar Saini, who suffered from mental health problems, was found in Bandra and Wandering the streets of Khar area.

When a police officer questioned him and went through his belongings, they found shredded documents containing a phone number that could be used to contact his family.

“While on patrol, the police found him disheveled and loitering on the link road in Khar area. He had been hanging around Bandra station and Khar station areas for the past two years,” the official said.

Boy said: “As he was not talking his bag was searched and a copy of an old driver’s license with a phone number on it was found among the shredded papers.”

“When we contacted this number, we were told that Saini has been missing from Alwar for the past two years. We are keeping Saini at the Khar police station until his family members arrive and provide him with food and clothes, “The official said.

His brother Ajay arrived in Mumbai on Sunday with a friend.

“We handed over Amit Saini to them. They told us that he was the driver and he suddenly disappeared two years ago,” the official said.
