Gurgaon:

A 24-year-old Rajasthan man was allegedly beaten to death by his relatives during a drunken brawl during the Holi festival in Kherki Daula district, police said on Friday.

They said the incident took place on March 24 when the man and his family were staying in a tent near Rampura village.

They added that there was zero FIR filed by the Rajasthan police and the Gurugram police registered an FIR at Kherki Daula police station on Thursday.

According to police, Padma, a resident of Tantoti village in Kaikri district of Rajasthan, reported to the Sarana police station that her husband Sonu Bhagaria was beaten to death by relatives near Rampura.

“I have been living with my husband and children in a tent near Rampura village for the past two months. On the Holi night of March 24, my husband Sonu Bagaria brought some wine while she prepared mutton curry.” Pa Dema said they both drank and around 8 pm, their relatives — Pradhan, Ramkishan, Teenu alias Siyaram]arrived at their tent. She claimed that after they also drank alcohol, a fight broke out and Sonu was brutally beaten by the three relatives.

“While we were driving him back to his hometown, he sustained injuries and died on the way,” Padma said in the complaint.

The Rajasthan police registered an FIR at Sarana police station and forwarded it to Gurgaon police. An FIR was registered against all the three accused at Kherki Daula police station on Thursday under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention), police said.
